Happy New Year. Let me introduce myself. My name is Laura and I am a craft addict and art enthusiast. Almost 2 years ago, I opened Create Thou Art Studio and Cafe as a place offering two of my favorite things – art and food. From the beginning, we have understood that many have this innate desire to create. It is what makes our Soul sing. I have always dreamed of a huge art and craft room with space to make and create without having to worry about the mess or the clutter this activity brings. Believing I was not the only one who needed a space such as this, with the help of many friends and family and an enormous number of “angel moments,” we rebuilt a wonderful old house to fulfill this vision. Create Thou Art was born. A place to feel welcome and at home. A place to know you are genuinely seen and understood. 
The addition of the cafe just added the extra bonus, as who doesn’t love a cup of coffee and a piece of homemade pie? Food also brings that sense of comfort and nourishment our hearts long for. And then came Covid. The unwelcome spoiler to our fun and frivolity. So we adjust and adapt. And that leads us to our main purpose here.

With a new year and everyone still limited in movement and gathering, we might as well begin with something new and fun. There are a million blogs out there for arts and crafts. Well maybe not a million but quite a few.
So why are we trying one too? What will make ours different?

We are a safe house for Craft Addicts!
We want to help you find the things that make your Soul sing. What activities and projects make you excited to do, to show off, to make for friends or just for your own enjoyment? Are there things you have always wanted to try? Crochet, pottery, photo transfers, etc?
What’s next for Create Thou Art?
With the people, the creative adventures, the experiments, the laughter and the fun being planned, we hope to help you feel as if you are not alone and are right here with us. How will we do this? By hosting virtual online art and craft classes that are interactive. You will not just watch a “how to” video but will be with us live and interactive. We will all become friends who may live across town or across the country. It will give us a chance to find those others out there who consider themselves an art enthusiast or a craft addict. Like an online dating service but for finding craft friends! We are the facilitators but everyone has a perspective and an outlook to share. We will learn from each other.
