Winter’s Ho Hum and St. Patty’s Day

Winter’s Ho Hum and St. Patty’s Day. Today is St. Patrick’s Day.  He was a real person and Saint and we have given him the color green.  It is great that his feast day is in early Spring because with everyone wearing green and posting green, it helps brighten up the day.  Our thoughts turn to things green and warm and fun.  Tip back an Irish beverage, dance a jig and seek out your pot ‘o gold.

Candle jar repurposed and repainted for St. Patrick’s Day.

Spring is so close.  We are in the last bit of Winter’s Ho Hum.  We have a day or two of warm sunny weather and are lulled into the false pretense of Spring.  But Spring is coming. You can almost hear the bulbs waking up in the ground and getting ready to stretch to the sky.  The over achiever flowers have already started the parade of color that will dot the gardens and roadways very soon.    It is so wonderful to drive down the road and see the fresh green grass and the pops of color.

I am not a good gardener.  It is well known that I can kill a potted plant faster than anyone.  When I was younger with young children, I would complain to my Mom about my lack of gardening ability.  She reassured me that it was okay.  I was growing children.  That was good enough.  Ah, Mom you were so wise.

However, if YOU are a good gardener or want to give it a shot, Bri’s Urban Heirloom Farm has several gardening classes coming up soon.
